911 Cellular – Computer Panic Button (CPB) Instructions: New Vista Safety Protocol

🔹 Overview

New Vista computers are equipped with a software panic button (CPB) for quick emergency alerts. It ensures immediate communication with staff and leadership and displays alerts on nearby devices. CPB is also used for drills and weather notifications.

🔹 How to Trigger an Alert

Method 1: Hotkey  

  • Press and hold ALT, then tap Backspace
  • A 10-second countdown will begin


Method 2: Icon Click  

  • Double-click the 911Cellular icon in your system tray (bottom right of screen)
  • If hidden, click the ↑ arrow to expand the tray
  • Drag the icon to your toolbar for easy access

🔹 Alert Types

  • S – Support Request:
    Notifies support/office managers (e.g., client agitated)
  • U – Urgent Alert:
    Notifies all management (e.g., client making threats)
  • C – Crisis-Level Alert: Notifies management + connects to dispatch (e.g., medical emergency, violence)

    Call 911 by phone, if possible, for medical emergencies.

Screen Notifications

Alerts appear on-screen during:

  • Safety drills (fire, tornado, lockdown)
  • Weather alerts near your office
  • Panic alerts triggered nearby
    Note: Laptop alerts depend on your actual location—not your assigned office.
